Here is the post you have all been waiting for... well maybe. Perhaps the week long silence was my way of indicating that this may not be one of those blogs updated multiple times a day... or even one every day. I'll will try to post often, but genius cannot be forced and it may only come upon me rarely.
This past week has been a rather fine week. Work kept me busy. I was trying hard to finish a project for submittal either friday afternoon or monday. It was one of those situations where you knew there way no way it was going to happen and yet you had no choice but to try. Well God came through for me and the submittal date was moved two weeks back fo a reason other than that I did not have it ready. I have been in celebration mode all weekend because of the pushback (the alternative was a weekend date with my cube). Laura has been working on homework and several projects. The imminent week will be her last week of classes. After finals she will have a break for two weeks that we are both looking forward to.

Our Newest Family Member
Today we welcomed a new member into our family. He/She (yet to be determined) is a "Cycas Revoluta" or more commonly called a King Sago Palm Tree. He isn't really a palm tree though, and he comes from Japan (or a farm in the States that grew him for the Home Depot down the way). We have named him Sago. Anyway, when you see the pictures you will understand why Sago had to come live with us. As a bonus, he is apparently relatively bulletproof and came with his own nice little pot to live in, plus he is poisonous to people and animals if consumed. Please kitty try a bite.
Without further ado...
Welcome to our Blog
So we finally gave in and started a blog. It seems to be the thing to do these days... and we were bored this evening. Coming up with a name for our blog was interesting. Laura and Jake Alianello was just a little plain. Laura didn't like my suggestion either though - "Itella the Pun". Finally we settled on Huckleberry Tales in fond memory of our honeymoon (plus it has a bit of a pun in it:) If you dont know what a huckleberry is then you need to find out right away. It's somewhat like a blueberry, but not exactly. We had never had them before traveling to Montana. They apparently are only harvested in the wild, making them somewhat rare and expensive. Despite this, they are everywhere in NW Montana. We both feel in love with them. We had huckleberry pie, huckleberry cobbler, huckleberry soda, huckleberry tea and even brought home huckleberry wine and a huckleberry candle. So whenever we remember that awesome trip we will think about huckleberries. (By the way, we did take the photo in the title background on our honeymoon in Montana... pretty cool.) So that is where the name comes from.
